What Does Pelvic Organ Prolapse Look Like?

Over 50% of women have some degree of organ prolapse and many don’t even know it.

Prolapse occurs when the bladder, uterus and/or rectum shift out of their optimal anatomical position and bulge into or descend into the vagina.

Early stage prolapse can be asymptomatic. Common symptoms are low back pain, discomfort or pain with sex, difficulty emptying the bladder and bowels, constipation, feeling like something is ‘in’ the vagina, difficulty inserting a tampon or tampons getting pushed out, feelings of heaviness and like something is falling out.
